Security Professional – College Campus

Position Details

• Hourly Rate: $ 21.50 / hour

• Schedule: Various shifts 

• Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

• Location: Ottawa, Ontario

In this role, you will help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular foot patrols throughout the campus, including classrooms, hallways, common areas, and exterior premises.

• Monitor access points and ensure that only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.

• Provide assistance and directions to students, staff, and visitors.

• Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and disturbances.

• Monitor CCTV systems and report any suspicious activity.

• Enforce campus policies and procedures in a professional and respectful manner.

• Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate daily activity logs.

• Assist with emergency procedures, evacuations, and other safety-related situations.

• Maintain a visible security presence to help prevent incidents and promote a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Quebec BSP Security Guard Licence (mandatory).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Professional appearance and positive attitude.

• Ability to remain calm and exercise good judgment in challenging situations.

• Strong observation and report-writing skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Previous security experience in an educational or institutional environment is considered an asset.

• Valid First Aid and CPR certification is considered an asset.
