Allied Universal is seeking Security Professional - Reception / Front Desk Downtown Vancouver,British Columbia. 

Position: Security Professional

Location: Downtown Vancouver, British Columbia

Payrate: $22 - $23 per hour

Status: Full - Time 

Shift: Monday To Friday ; 0700 - 1500

Overview:

We are seeking a professional, reliable, and customer-focused Security Professional - Reception / Front Desk - Full Time in Downtown Vancouver,British Columbia to join our team. The successful candidate will provide a highly visible security presence while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for tenants, customers, employees, and visitors. This position requires strong observation skills, excellent communication, professionalism, and the ability to respond appropriately to security incidents while following company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Valid BC Security Guard License.
• First Aid/CPR Certification (required).
• Minimum 1 year of security guard experience.
• Minimum 1 year of customer service and/or front desk/reception experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong observation, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated experience in conflict de-escalation and maintaining professionalism in high-pressure situations.
• Experience conducting foot patrols, responding to incidents, and completing detailed incident reports.
• Knowledge of trespass enforcement, access control, and emergency response procedures.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with tenants, visitors, and the public.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills and experience using report-writing software.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent/GED or equivalent work experience
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, occasionally climb stairs, and lift or carry up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies or difficult situations.

Responsibilities:

• Provide professional front desk security and reception services.
• Greet and meet employees, visitors, contractors, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Verify visitors and follow estabshed visitor management and access control procedures.
• Monitor and control access to the facility while maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Receive, accept, and appropriately direct deliveries, packages, couriers, and contractors.
• Maintain accurate visitor, delivery, and security records.
• Monitor CCTV cameras and report suspicious activity, safety concerns, or security incidents.
• Conduct regular security checks and inspections of designated areas.
• Check the MDF (Main Distribution Frame) room and server room every four hours as required.
• Record inspection results and report any unusual conditions, unauthorized access, equipment concerns, or security issues.
• Respond professionally to security incidents, emergencies, alarms, and unusual activity.
• Follow site-specific post orders, emergency procedures, and client requirements.
• Assist employees and visitors with general questions and provide appropriate directions or information.
• Maintain a professional and welcoming appearance at the reception desk.
• Use computers and security systems to complete reports, logs, emails, and other administrative tasks.
• Complete daily activity reports and incident reports accurately and promptly.
• Perform other security and front desk duties as assigned by the supervisor or client.
