Allied Universal is seeking Security Team Lead – Premium Mall in Etobicoke, ON.

 

Location: Etobicoke, ON
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $21.52 per hour

Schedule: Days Continental Rotation 09:30 - 21:30

Employment Type: Full-Time

Overview:

Allied Universal is seeking a professional, customer-focused, and highly motivated Security Team Lead – Premium Mall to join our team at a prestigious retail shopping centre in Etobicoke, Ontario.

This position is ideal for experienced security professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, high-profile environment and are committed to leading a team while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a safe and secure atmosphere for tenants, retailers, employees, and visitors. The successful candidate will provide operational leadership, coordinate daily security activities, respond to incidents, and support the overall security operations of a premier retail destination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to Security Guards during assigned shifts.

  • Conduct regular foot patrols throughout the shopping centre, parking facilities, and surrounding property.

  • Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, and other undesirable activities.

  • Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, emergencies, and calls for service.

  • Coordinate emergency response activities and provide direction to security personnel during critical incidents.

  • Investigate and document incidents, accidents, and security concerns in accordance with site procedures.

  • Review reports and ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and professionally.

  • Monitor CCTV, alarm systems, access control systems, and other security technologies.

  • Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to shoppers, tenants, and visitors.

  • Enforce property rules, regulations, company policies, and applicable legislation.

  • Identify and report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, and security vulnerabilities.

  • Assist emergency services and act as a first responder during emergency situations.

  • Mentor, coach, and support team members while promoting professionalism and accountability.

  • Collaborate with property management, retailers, contractors, and Allied Universal leadership to maintain a secure environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of security experience, preferably within a shopping centre, retail, commercial, or customer-service-focused environment.

  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience is considered a strong asset.

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.

  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certification.

  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
  • Must be 25 years of age or older for insurance eligibility requirements.
  • Strong leadership, report writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and security-related technology systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations.

  • Professional appearance and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

  • Ability to work rotating days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a high-end retail, luxury shopping centre, or commercial property environment.

  • Previous experience leading or mentoring a security team.

  • Knowledge of access control, CCTV systems, emergency response procedures, and incident management.

  • Experience coordinating emergency response and shift operations.
