Position: Security Dispatcher
Type: Full Time
Location: Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta
Pay Rate: $27.62 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends, and statutory/religious holidays)
Overview:
We are seeking a Security Dispatcher to join our team in a steady, established industrial setting. In this role, you’ll provide real-time support for emergency incidents, monitor security systems, and dispatch responses to ensure the site’s safety and security. This position offers hands-on experience in high-stakes security dispatching, ideal for those looking to build or enhance careers in emergency response and security operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving emergency calls and obtaining information regarding the emergencies
- Dispatching the appropriate emergency service to the location of the incident
- Transmit necessary information to field personnel via radio or telephone communication systems
- Perform interface functions between Shell and the external agencies during a site-wide emergency.
- Monitor all CCTV cameras and access control alarms
- Answer routine telephone and radio calls
- Prioritize calls for service and manpower allocation
- Immediately enact the public complaint process upon receipt of a public complaints or concern (i.e. noise complaints)
- Oversees basic operation of security alarm systems
- Perform after hour callouts for personnel
- Serve as the Emergency contact for Pipelines and Sherwood Marketing Terminal
Requirements :
The successful applicants must complete the Dispatcher Training Program which includes but is not limited to:
- Site orientation and Facility familiarization
- Emergency Procedures
- Incident training (Drills/Exercises)
- Radio communications
- Telephone features
- Report writing
The individual will have the ability to utilize the following systems:
- Access Control System
- Site Paging Systems
- Site telecommunication systems
- Site radio systems
- Headcount Assembly System
