Job Description

Job Title: Recruiter – Temporary

Location: Hamilton

Position Type: Temporary 1 year Contract - Full-Time, On-Site

Shift: Monday to Friday (8 hours)

Salary Range: 48,000 - 50,000 annually

 

Position Overview

As part of the Human Resources team, the role Recruiter - Temporary will play a key role in sourcing, screening, and onboarding qualified security professionals to meet site staffing needs across multiple client locations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and skilled in building strong relationships with candidates and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead full-cycle recruitment for security guard positions, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.

· Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified security professionals for current and future openings.

· Collaborate with site management and operations teams to understand staffing requirements and timelines.

· Conduct reference checks and verify security licenses, certifications, and training.

· Support hiring events, job fairs, and community outreach initiatives.

· Maintain accurate recruitment metrics and applicant tracking documentation.

· Ensure compliance with company hiring standards, licensing requirements (Ministry of Solicitor General), and provincial employment legislation.

Qualifications

· Minimum 1–2 years of recruitment experience, preferably within the security, protective services, or related field.

· Knowledge of the Ontario Private Security and Investigative Services Act and licensing process preferred.

· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to represent the company professionally to candidates and clients.

· Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume recruitment in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

· Highly proficient in time management, organization, and prioritization with strong attention to detail.

· Proven ability to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with operations and management teams.

· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and long-term relationships with candidates and colleagues.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS) or HR databases.

· Adaptable and solution-oriented approach with a commitment to continuous improvement and achieving hiring targets.
