Job Description

Location:                    Downtown Victoria, BC
Position Type:           Full-Time, Permanent
Wage:                         $27.00 per hour
Schedule:                   Sunday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Reports To:                Account Manager / Service Manager

 

Position Overview

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Services Manager to lead and oversee a dedicated security team at a premier retail shopping center in Downtown Victoria. This high-traffic location plays a central role in the city’s tourism and retail experience, and demands a security leader who prioritizes safety, professionalism, and exceptional service delivery.

This role is responsible for supervising all on-site security operations, coordinating team schedules, handling incident response, and ensuring compliance with both client expectations and regulatory requirements. The Security Services Manager acts as the main point of contact between site security staff, the client, and Allied Universal’s corporate support.

Note: Due to the requirement for Reliability Clearance, applicants must have resided in Canada for at least the past 5 consecutive years.

 

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead, supervise, and support the on-site security team
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, and scheduling of staff
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and corrective action when needed
  • Ensure staff maintain site standards for appearance, conduct, and customer service
  • Organize and lead regular team meetings and shift briefings

Operations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day site security operations
  • Coordinate coverage for all shifts and respond to staffing gaps
  • Monitor incident trends and recommend improvements
  • Maintain oversight of CCTV monitoring, access control, and other security technologies
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of radios, keys, and reporting systems

 

Client Relations & Reporting

  • Serve as the primary contact for client communication and updates
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required
  • Attend client meetings and ensure alignment on safety and service standards
  • Address escalated concerns from tenants, guests, or the client directly

Compliance & Incident Response

  • Ensure compliance with provincial regulations and Occupational Health & Safety standards
  • Lead incident investigations and coordinate with emergency services as needed
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all security incidents and activities
  • Conduct regular audits of post orders, logs, and team performance

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Valid BC Security Worker License
  • Eligibility for Reliability Clearance
    • Must have lived in Canada for the past 5 consecutive years
  • Minimum 3–5 years of security leadership experience
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience working in retail, public venues, or high-traffic environments
  • Proficiency in incident management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office
  • Must be professional, reliable, and results-oriented
