Job Description

Allied Universal is seeking Security Supervisor in Vaughan, Ontario.  

 

Job Title: Security Supervisor
Location: Vaughan, ON
Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Shifts: Monday to Wednesday - 08:00 to 19:00, Thursday - 06:15 to 16:00

 

Overview:

Allied Universal is seeking a dedicated and experienced Security Supervisor to oversee security operations during overnight shifts at a client facility in Mississauga. This role encompasses leadership of the on-site security team, daily operational oversight, and enforcement of all client security protocols, with an emphasis on access control, reporting, and team supervision.

 

Responsibilities:

Access Control & Employee Screening

  • Supervise guards conducting employee entry/exit screening using metal detectors and bag checks.

  • Ensure strict adherence to all client-mandated access control procedures.

  • Address any deviation from screening protocols immediately and effectively.

Shipping Area Oversight

  • Monitor all activities in the shipping and receiving areas to restrict access to authorized personnel only.

  • Validate and maintain shipping logs recorded by guards.

  • Perform random spot checks to ensure compliance with policies and prevent theft or unauthorized activity.

Heliaus & Digital Reporting

  • Ensure guards properly utilize Heliaus devices for patrol logs, incident reports, and checkpoint verification.

  • Review and ensure accuracy and completeness of digital reports at the end of each shift.

  • Submit daily supervisor logs, including incident summaries, staffing updates, and operational observations.

Computer & System Usage

  • Use site-assigned systems to review employee access history, internal communications, and surveillance footage (if applicable).

  • Maintain accurate and confidential digital records of shift activities, incident reports, and supervisor notes.

  • Follow secure data handling practices to safeguard internal operations.

Guard Scheduling & Shift Management

  • Prepare and manage the weekly shift schedule for a team of 3–4 guards in accordance with operational needs.

  • Track attendance, manage absences, and adjust schedules in real-time to ensure full coverage.

  • Communicate any scheduling updates to the team in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate with the Operations team on overtime, coverage requests, and onboarding relief personnel.

Team Leadership & Client Communication

  • Conduct daily briefings with security personnel to assign duties, communicate updates, and address any site-specific concerns.

  • Act as the primary liaison for all on-site security matters with the client.

  • Ensure staff uphold high standards of professionalism, conduct, and uniform compliance.

Incident Management & Emergency Response

  • Lead the response to all incidents and emergencies, including medical events, safety threats, or policy violations.

  • Coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders and emergency services when required.

  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all incidents as per company and client protocols.

Training & Development

  • Provide regular coaching and training to guards on emergency procedures, use of security tools, and protocol compliance.

  • Monitor performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

Customer Service & Professionalism

  • Respond to questions or concerns from staff, contractors, or visitors in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Promote a safe and welcoming environment while enforcing security standards.

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Security Supervisor or similar role, preferably in a high-security environment.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and security management systems (e.g., Heliaus).

  • Valid Ontario Security License.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or equivalent work experience.

  • Eligible to work in Canada (up to 40 hours/week).

  • Able to work flexible hours, including overnight, weekends, and holidays.

  • Valid First Aid & CPR certification.
