Allied Universal is seeking Security Operations Specialist in Toronto, Ontario.  

 

Job Title: Security Operations Specialist

Location: Toronto, ON

Type: Full Time

Salary: $65K–$85K per year 

Shifts: Monday - Friday, 0800 - 1600 hrs

Requirements: 5-year Residency in Canada to obtain clearance

 

 

Overview :

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Security Operations Specialist to join our team to work for a Client at their international headquarters in downtown Toronto. This pivotal role serves as the primary liaison between our Client’s Incident Reporting Centre and their on-site security operations, ensuring a safe and secure environment for their employees and visitors. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of the Client’s security protocols and fostering a culture of safety within their organization.

 

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to excellence in security operations. They will possess a strategic mindset, capable of anticipating potential security threats and implementing effective countermeasures. They will also need to be able to calmly dela with potentially stressful, real-time scenarios and confidently interact with senior-level executives.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  •  Incident Management and Response

          o Act as the on-site point of contact for the Incident Reporting Centre, the Client’s security operations centre, managing incident investigations and follow-ups

          o Provide crucial support during major events and incidents specific to the Client’s international headquarters in Toronto

          o Assist with high-risk terminations occurring on-site, ensuring smooth and secure processes

          o Contribute to the development and maintenance of comprehensive incident response plans for various scenarios

          o Assist with post-incident analyses and detailed reports with recommendations for improvements

          o Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary

  • Event Security and Intelligence

          o Support the Enhanced Personnel Protection team with local event security in Toronto

          o Conduct thorough news and social media scans for event-specific intelligence

          o Contribute to event security planning and risk assessments

          o Assist in data collection for daily intelligence reports

          o Liaise with external security agencies and vendors for large-scale events

          o Assist with real-time threat assessments during ongoing events

  • Physical Security and Technology

          o Troubleshoot and maintain physical security technology equipment at the building

          o Conduct regular duress button testing in coordination with the Incident Reporting Centre

          o Support the Physical Security Risk Assessment process

          o Work with Corporate Real Estate partners to address security-related product issues

          o Conduct regular audits of security equipment to ensure optimal functionality

  • On-Site Safety and Support

          o Participating in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) walkthroughs and investigations

          o Assist with emergency response procedures and drills

          o Provide escort services for employees and executives as needed

          o Liaise with the landlord’s security team to ensure seamless security operations

          o Help to maintain evacuation plans and procedures specific to the building

          o Coordinate with Corporate Real Estate partners on safety-related building maintenance issues

  • Proactive Security Measures

         o Maintain constant site awareness and familiarity to identify potential gaps or issues

         o Conduct regular security audits and propose improvements, and assist with the development and implementation of preventive security measures

         o Stay updated on the latest security trends and best practices

         o Participate in industry networking events to stay informed on emerging threats

  • Executive and Special Support

         o Provide dedicated support to the Executive office as required

         o Assist with special projects or initiatives related to security and safety

  • Duties as assigned

        o Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as the security landscape evolves

        o Willingness to work non-standard hours during emergencies or special events

        o Contribute to the continuous improvement of security policies and procedures

 

 

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate security or law enforcement
  • Secondary education in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field preferred
  • Professional certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional) or PSP (Physical Security Professional) are highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of emergency response protocols
  • Independently driven and effective working as an individual contributor and with other team members
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills is essential
  • Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Proficiency in security reporting software and MS Office suite
  • Valid security license, first aid certification and clean criminal record check
  • Experience with risk assessment methodologies and security auditing processes is desirable
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must have a valid Ontario Security License.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to obtain site specific security clearance
  • First Aid and CPR
