Allied Universal is seeking Professional Security Guards in Cobourg, ON.   

Title: High Risk Guard - Full Time (Permanent)

Location: Cobourg, ON 

Payrate: $21.00-$22.00/hour 

Shift Type:  12 hours   

Schedule:  Continental Rotation (4 shifts wk1 - 3 shifts wk2)

Rotation : Nights: 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Could be required to work Days: 7:00 am to 7:00 pm as well.

Overview:

Allied Universal is seeking experienced Security Guards, with experience support health care, for our security operations in Cobourg, ON. The ideal candidate is a seasoned guard with excellent communication skills, willing to work rotational shifts, and able to work within a dynamic security team. If you have experience as a Security Guard, enjoy patrolling, and can maintain a high level of professionalism, we'd like to hear from you. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a team in de-escalating aggressive patients and situations
• Monitor and maintain the security of the hospital premises through regular patrols and patient watch as required
• Control access to the unit, ensuring only authorized individuals enter sensitive areas.
• Respond quickly to emergency situations, including medical or behavioral incidents, and assist healthcare staff as needed.
• Assist in the safe handling and de-escalation of potentially volatile or agitated patients, ensuring minimal risk to staff and other patients.
• Perform searches, inspections, and other safety measures to prevent contraband from entering the facility.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies regarding visitor regulations and staff safety procedures.
• Report and document any incidents, irregularities, or breaches in other profetssionals, to promote a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Security Guard in a hospital, health care facility, or similar environment.
• Proven experience conducting patient watch and support 
• Must be able to demonstrate the use of de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Security Ontario Guard License.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with individuals experiencing health crisis.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.
• Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
• Basic first aid and CPR certification

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
• Physically capable of assisting in restraining or controlling patients when necessary.
• Ability to lift objects up to 40 lbs as needed.
